                    COVID-19 Arts grants showcase

                    We’re committed to investing in the arts and supporting our city's creative community, especially when times are tough. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we're providing $2 million in grants to artists and creatives to invest in new works, and digital presentation of works and performances.

                    Take a look through the works that have been made possible through our quick response arts grants.​

                    • Quivering in Quarantine

                      Curated by Molly Stephenson and Iona Mackenzie, Quivering in Quarantine is an inclusive online exhibition that features work from artists and writers during the COVID-19 pandemic. This ongoing exhibition aims to showcase, celebrate and explore art within the context of a global pandemic.
                    • Ready, Steady, Go

                      'Ready, Steady, Go' is an online platform dedicated to climate emergency disaster preparedness through an artistic lens and aesthetic. Centred on emergency kits and home preparedness planning, it offers practical tips, scenario mapping activities and imaginative ways to get your gear in order.
                    • An Instruction Manual on How to be Lucky

                      An absurdist video work using surreal props exploring ideas of order and chaos and the use of systems to make sense of an unpredictable world.
                    • Invasion of the Lanimals

                      We have prepared four video transmissions, uploaded weekly to IGTV. They are clarion calls for other lanimals to join us. They are also a plea to humans…we must live on this earth together.
                    • Concrete Citizens Virtual Exhibition

                      The project involved the creation of a professional website, specifically the development of an online exhibiton experience of Alex Schoelcher's most recent series, Concrete Citizens.
