As-built drawings submitted to the City of Melbourne must be prepared using As-Built Spatial Standards.
By requiring these drawings, we can keep an accurate and up to date record of our assets. By strictly following the standards below, you will help to ensure that all our records are consistent and that the drawings you submit can be integrated into our Geographic Information System (GIS). This helps us to better manage our assets and to provide quality information to others.
The As-Built Spatial Standards include attachments of supporting data and information.
As-built drawings
The objectives of as-built spatial standards are to:
- ensure that a consistent level of quality is maintained when preparing engineering drawings
- improve the transferability of data for integration into our GIS system.
When submitting your drawings, you should ensure:
- all symbols are in accordance with the City of Melbourne standards as outlined in As-Built Spatial Standards, including all surfaces represented as polygons
- the plan is in GDA 2020 MGA Zone 55 datum
- the drawings show Australian Height Datum (AHD) for all levels.
If you don't have the latest software, we would accept:
- as-built drawings using City of Melbourne block symbols for point assets and hatches for surfaces, for example footpath, kerb, channel, road carriageway and median strip
- a spreadsheet with a list of new, modified or removed assets.
