Multicultural services

The City of Melbourne has one of the world's most culturally diverse communities. Our services include multilingual information lines, programs for international students, and a Multicultural Hub as a place to meet, interact and collaborate.

Reporting racism

Racism has no place in Victoria and the City of Melbourne – if you experience it, you can make a report via our Community Reporting Tool.

Our diversity and strong community spirit are two of the things that make the City of Melbourne a great place to live. But we know some members of our community continue to experience racism. It can cause serious harm, leaving people and communitities feeling isolated and marginalised.

To combat racism, we’ve partnered with the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission to create a Community reporting tool.

Reports made by the tool are sent securely and confidentially to the Commission. When you make a report, you can ask the Commission to contact you if you want further information about your rights or how you can make a complaint.

No one should have to put up with racism. Let’s work together to make a safer, more inclusive community.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future.
