                    Wedding permit application

                    If you would like to host your wedding ceremony in a City of Melbourne park or garden, please complete this form.  

                    If your wedding ceremony does not trigger any of the below conditions, you do not need a wedding permit. This means you need to be flexible, and move to another park lawn if the one you want is occupied.

                    You only need a wedding permit if one or more of these conditions apply:

                    • You plan to erect infrastructure, such as a marquee. (Note: chairs and tables, or market umbrellas – limited to four, ​are not considered infrastructure.) 
                    • There will be 50 attendees or more.
                    • Your event is catered by an external supplier who is bringing temporary cooking equipment or vehicles onsite in excess of two barbecues.
                    • You require vehicle access to drop off equipment or for elderly or mobility impaired guests (this does not include wedding vehicles. Wedding vehicles are prohibited in parks).
                    • Your wedding requires a reservation for a specific bookable space

                    Before completing the form, please ensure that you have read, understood and accepted the wedding permit information and spoken to a member of the Event Operations team on 03 9658 9658 to ensure the site you're requesting is available.

                    Please note this form does not guarantee availability or booking of the site and does not give approval for the wedding ceremony.

                    Depending on the size and requirements of your wedding ceremony, we require sufficient notice in order to process your application. This will ensure all requirements are met to deliver a safe and successful day.

                    City of Melbourne reserves the right to decline an application if insufficient notice is provided. Please discuss this with the Event Operations team on 03 9658 9658.

                    Please note your final fee will include an application fee that is non-refundable. Refer to full terms and conditions below before proceeding.

                    The City of Melbourne is committed to protecting your privacy.
