Melbourne Licensees Forum

Do you own or manage a licensed premises in the City of Melbourne? Get involved in the Melbourne Licensees Forum and contribute to a safer city and Melbourne’s vibrant nighttime economy. 

The Melbourne Licensees Forum is the largest liquor forum in Victoria and has almost 25 years of history. It is the designated liquor forum within the City of Melbourne and contributes to the vibrancy of Melbourne’s late night entertainment precincts and safe nighttime environments.

Members of the forum include licensed premises, City of Melbourne, Victoria Police, Metropolitan Fire Brigade, the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation, Australian Hotels Association, and the Australian Venues Association.

Membership is voluntary, free and open to all licensees in the City of Melbourne. Being a member of the Melbourne Licensees Forum gives you the opportunity to:

  • build relationships with local authorities
  • develop networks in the industry
  • access training and support
  • advocate for issues affecting licensed venues.

The forum meets every three months at various venues. Meetings are hosted by licensees and cover a variety of topics such as venue security, emergency management, patron behaviour, responsible service of alcohol, industry trends and regulation updates. Each meeting also includes an open forum and dedicated time for informal networking.

In addition to meetings, members are given to support to:

  • improve their management practices and systems
  • access the latest trends, knowledge, and resources in the industry
  • promote responsible standards of behaviour among patrons
  • create a safe environment for patrons and staff
