                    COVID-19 Arts grants showcase

                    We’re committed to investing in the arts and supporting our city's creative community, especially when times are tough. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we're providing $2 million in grants to artists and creatives to invest in new works, and digital presentation of works and performances.

                    Take a look through the works that have been made possible through our quick response arts grants.​

                    • Serious Comedy live and online

                      Serious Comedy worked with artists, directors, production staff and industry professionals to adapt four festival shows to an online setting with high production values.
                    • Live: From Your Living Room

                      An online, late-night style variety show, presenting professional performing artists across all disciplines from their living rooms in a succinct, polished package.
                    • Isolation stories

                      A portrait series of people isolating due to travel, sickness or vulnerable health, and a little chat about their experiences in isolation during the pandemic. I've found the project to be a beautiful way to connect with people safely, and share their stories to others who might be feeling alone.
                    • Magma

                      A sketch show disguised as a sci-fi engineering presentation on the glorious potential of the new magma mining industry. From ideas generated on the 'Two in the Think Tank' podcast from critically acclaimed comedians Alasdair Tremblay-Birchall and Andy Matthews.
                    • 'me say edit be'

                      In this recording artist Darcey Bella Arnold speaks with her father Michael Arnold who is an educator and partner of Jennifer Arnold. Michael and Jennifer were married in 1974 and have four children. Michael is the primary carer of Jennifer who has an Acquired Brain Injury.
