Leadership and structure

Our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for establishing and maintaining an organisational structure that ensures the decisions of Council are implemented, and its vision is delivered. The Executive Leadership Team is appointed by the CEO and assists in the overall leadership and governance of the organisation.

Lord mayor and councillors

The Melbourne City Council comprises a lord mayor, deputy lord mayor and nine councillors. The Councillors were elected in November 2020.

Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece

Nicholas Reece was elected Deputy Lord Mayor in November 2020, after having previously been elected Councillor in the City of Melbourne in 2016.

Councillor Dr Olivia Ball

Dr Olivia Ball was elected Councillor in November 2020.

Councillor Roshena Campbell

Roshena Campbell was elected Councillor in November 2020.

Councillor Jason Chang

Jason Chang was elected Councillor in November 2020.

Philip Le Liu was re-elected in November 2020 after having previously been elected in 2016.
