The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, and an improved quality of life.

The scheme also connects anyone with disability to services in their community.

The NDIS now supports over 500,000 Australians with disability to access the services and supports they need.

How do I find out more?

There are many ways you can get more information about the NDIS:

Who is eligible for the NDIS?

The NDIS may be available to support people who are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a Protected Special Category Visa, are under the age of 65 and who have a permanent and significant disability.

For more information or to find out if you may be eligible visit the NDIS website or call 1800 800 110.

How do I access the NDIS?

If you are not currently receiving any disability supports, but wish to join the scheme, contact the NDIA and ask to complete an Access Request Form.

Once you have registered, the NDIA will work with you to develop a plan which focuses on your goals and supports required to achieve these goals. Some plans might be developed over the phone but anyone can request a face to face planning session.

How do I make a complaint or appeal a decision?

There are a number of resources you can access if you are not satisfied with the NDIA processes.
