Signal is a creative studio for young people located in the heart of the city beside the Yarra River and was formerly known as the Flinders Street ‘A’ Signal Box. Signal facilities include:

Signal Space

The space is an intimate black box for performance or as an exhibition space on the ground floor of the building, with its large east-facing doors opening onto the Les Erdi Plaza. Fitted out with black curtains and a lighting rig.

Signal Studio

This open plan space with an abundance of natural light is perfect for workshops and creative making. The Studio has large tables and chairs and a multimedia suite equipped with five Apple computers.

Signal Screen

The 1st floor window façade is a great medium for rear projection screening of video works. After dark, the Signal Screen showcases digital media work created by young people.

Signal Sound

Signal Sound consists of 18 channel speakers for sound-based artworks located along the 100m fence line of the Les Erdi Plaza, between the Signal building and the Flinders Street Station.
