                    • COVID-19 and food businesses

COVID-19 has seen many changes to our city, especially for our hospitality and food businesses. We appreciate your cooperation as we reopen and rebuild our city, and we will continue to work with you to protect the health and wellbeing of the Victorian community.
                    • Outdoor dining permits

Outdoor dining permits allow restaurants and cafes to extend their seating area onto the footpath or in an altered parking bay (parklet). This enhances the vibrancy of our streets, supports local businesses and gives customers the best experience of city dining.
                    • Register a food or beverage business

If you are starting a food or beverage business you must contact the City of Melbourne to ensure you comply with the Food Act 1984 requirements.
                    • Food safety

If you prepare, store or serve food, it’s important you know how to do it safely. Our fact sheets and resources provide you with essential information about all elements of food safety.
                    • Temporary and mobile food premises

If you are a business or community group that sells or provides a sample of a food or beverage product for promotional purposes, a state-wide registration and notification scheme for temporary and mobile food premises applies under the Food Act 1984.
