Future Melbourne Committee

The Future Melbourne Committee (FMC) is a special committee of the Council. It oversees the implementation of Council Plan strategies.

The committee oversees the implementation of Council Plan strategies and activities contributing to achieving the goals of the 13 themes. The committee will:

  • Approve, or recommend to Council approval of, proposals for activities related to these goals.
  • Approve, or recommend to Council approval of, expenditure of resources for activities related to these goals.
  • Monitor the progress of activities in the Council Plan relevant to these goals.

Meetings

There are two FMC meetings each month. See the schedule of meeting dates.

The Lord Mayor chairs the entire meeting with the exception of the City Planning segment which is chaired by the Deputy Lord Mayor.

The quorum for the committee is a majority of its members.

Governance Rules

Councillor Le Lui is the Portfolio Lead and Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece is the Deputy Lead.
