Philip Le Liu was re-elected in November 2020 after having previously been elected in 2016.

Councillor Philip Le Liu is an independent, local resident in the CBD and engages closely with businesses and community groups within the municipality. With more than 15 years of insights across multiple industries in consulting and a former small business owner, Philip is well regarded as a trusted advisor and advocate that deliver tangible results. He is a champion of diversity, promoting and mentoring young people, and a recognised leader within the Asian community.

For his achievements, Philip was recognised in 2019 as the ‘Most Influential Asian-Australian’ under 40 in the Public Sector / Government category and Asia Society Australia’s ‘Melbourne Asia Game Changer’ for 2022. 

Philip is portfolio lead for Finance, Governance and Risk and deputy portfolio lead for Education and Innovation. For more details see Councillor portfolios.
