                    The City of Melbourne has developed policies and strategies to guide the use, maintenance, development and sustainability of parks throughout the municipality.
                    • Growing Green Environmental Sustainability Plan

                      The Growing Green Environmental Sustainability Plan is a long-term plan for the future management of the City of Melbourne's open space and recreational facilities. Our vision for Melbourne is that it will be greener, less dependent on cars, and with more trees throughout the city.
                    • Open Space Opportunities in North and West Melbourne

                      Open Space Opportunities in North and West Melbourne (2002) is a feasibility study into opportunities to create more open space using existing parks and adjoining road space.
                    • Open Space Strategy

                      The City of Melbourne manages more than 500 hectares of open space. This represents almost 15 per cent of the total area of the City of Melbourne.

                      The City of Melbourne's park master plans set out the long-term vision and guide the future management of our major parks and gardens.
                    • Parks Policy

                      The Parks Policy sets out our vision for the city’s parkland and establishes guidelines for their effective management. It aims to meet the needs and expectations of all those use our parklands, while ensuring the quality and beauty of Melbourne's green spaces are preserved for future generations.
                    • Plaques and Memorials Policy

                      The Plaques and Memorials Policy covers all plaques and memorials being placed in any public space within the City of Melbourne municipality whether this be in a street, square, park or garden.
