Projects supported through Signal Young Creatives Lab in 2024 are:

                    Tyler Bain

Girrwaawa (meaning 'Come Together' in traditional Gumbaynggirr language) is a feature length documentary exploring the life and creative process of Gumbaynggirr artist and activist Aretha Brown as she travels to India, America, Canada and East Timor to create large-scale mural works that explore queerness, youth and Indigenous identity.

                    Jessica Tanto

Quiet Queers invites young LGBTQIA+ creatives to explore what safe and inclusive, alcohol and drug-free daytime events look like for members of the community who sit outside of dominant queer culture.

                    Bella Waru

F.A.R. (For a Reason) is Bella Waru’s debut EP exploring connection, self-reflection, growth and all-encompassing love. Of mixed bloodlines and Jazz musician parents, Waru’s intimate, raw and piercing sound surfaces in the realms between the Avant-nesian, Siren songs, Celtic folk and Soul.

                    Warren (Warrigo) Tyrell

MUKI is a 4 track EP that traces the lifecycle of the flower of Gidyea, a tree long valued by First Nations people of so-called Australia. Muki is a reclamation of self and place. It sheds light on the transition from childbirth to adulthood, and on the environments of culture, people, land and water. It brings the lived experience of being Blak in this country.
