If you are unable to make your submission using this form, please email planning@melbourne.vic.gov.au or call us on 6139658 9658.
You can lodge an objection any time after the application has been lodged with City of Melbourne and before a decision is made on the application.
To ensure your objection is not made after our decision, you are encouraged to lodge your submission by the date shown on this website, the notice, the advertising sign displayed, or the newspaper notice.
We will consider all submissions we receive before a decision is made.
Once you lodge an objection, we will send you acknowledgment that we received it.
City of Melbourne will take all objections into consideration before making a decision.
If City of Melbourne decides to grant the permit and third-party notice and appeal rights are applicable, we’ll send you a Notice of Decision to Grant a Permit (NOD). If you objected, you will have 28 days to lodge an application for review with the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT). If no objectors request a review with VCAT, we will issue the planning permit. For information about current planning permit applications, visit our planning permits register.
Please note, copies of objections are public documents. The applicant, Councillors and VCAT or other interested parties may view them to help inform the decision as part of the planning process.
