Grow it Local

Put your patch on the map and get involved with a community of like-minded gardeners with Grow it Local.

Grow it LocalOpens in new tab is a free online platform where backyard, balcony, community garden and window-sill farmers can connect, share, learn and foster their love of gardening.

A key action in our Community Food Relief Plan 2021-25 is to support our community to grow and share their own food through food literacy initiatives. The City of Melbourne is proud to partner with Grow it Local to connect local and aspiring growers in the municipality.

By getting involved, you can see who and what’s growing locally, connect and share with local growers and food lovers, host or attend a workshop, share produce or find or list unused space for growing and help inspire the next generation of growers.

Residents, businesses, schools and community organisations in the City of Melbourne can sign up for free and get access to a handy library of workshops. Grow it Local hosts workshops each month where you can ‘Ask an Expert’ and have all your gardening questions answered live.
