In celebration of Seniors Festival and Children’s Week in October 2020, we facilitated a new intergenerational activity called 'Before I’m 100, when I was young', which aims to increase social connection during COVID-19.

We invited children and older people to answer questions looking ahead to the future, or reflecting on the past – and then shared the results across the two age groups.

Children were invited to answer questions through illustrations about what they’d like to do before they turn 100. Older people were asked questions via phone about how they saw the world when they were younger. Below are some of the responses we received.

It is vital to maintain social connection between younger people and older people, and particularly during challenging times like COVID-19.
