Incontinence product disposal bins

According to the Continence Foundation of Australia, at least 1.34 million Australian boys and men are living with incontinence daily.

It is an issue that can affect the emotional and physical health of people and prevent them from attending school or work, participating in sport and engaging socially.

To help address this issue, the City of Melbourne is piloting a free incontinence product disposal bin service in a limited number of public facilities.

This trial will take place as part of the BINS4BlokesOpens in new tab men's health campaign, an Australia-wide awareness and advocacy campaign promoting the installation of incontinence bins in male public toilet facilities.

Melbourne is the first capital city council to adopt such a campaign.

Incontinence product disposal bins are available in men's and all-gender toilets at the following locations:

  • Library at The Dock – 107 Victoria Harbour Promenade, Docklands
  • City Library – 253-265 Flinders Lane, Melbourne
  • Carlton Baths – 248 Rathdowne Street, Carlton
  • Melbourne Town Hall public toilets (on Collins Street) – 240 Collins Street, Melbourne
  • North Melbourne Community Centre – 49-53 Buncle Street, North Melbourne
