Election campaign donation returns

We believe in transparent and open governance publishing the returns ensures the financial and in-kind support given to candidates by individuals and organisations is available to the public through the Council s website. We have removed personal information from the returns, such as the address details of donors, to protect their privacy. You can view unedited versions of the returns at Council offices during business hours by appointment only.

Local government election candidates are required by law to provide a record of whether they did or didn t receive any donations or gifts, including in-kind support, for their election campaign.

The return provides details of any gifts, goods or services worth $500 or more, received during the donation period for use in connection with a candidate s election campaign. This applies to all candidates, whether elected or not, and whether they received campaign donations or not.

Electoral campaign donations are a matter for individual Councillors or candidates. If you have questions regarding specific campaign donations please contact the candidate, or contact the Local Government InspectorateOpens in new tab if you wish to discuss any integrity or alleged breaches of the Local Government Act 2020.

If candidates ran in a 'team', gifts and donations that were made to that 'team' may be submitted by all candidates individually.
