                    Daily Population Estimates

The City of Melbourne’s Daily Population Estimates provide an indication of people travelling to and/or being present in our municipality.

The latest estimates derived from mobility data insights suggests almost one million people were in the city on an average weekday in 2019, with just over half observed in the CBD.

                    Important notice
City of Melbourne’s estimates pre-date COVID-19. They do not take into consideration impacts stemming from this event such as travel and working from home restrictions and should not be taken to reflect the current daily population.
