Welcoming new families to Melbourne

Our 'New to Melbourne' program is a great way for families to connect with the local community and discover and access the many free services available for families.

A woman is walking away from the camera down a tree-lined path, holding a small child's hand on her right side, and pushing a pram with her other hand.

New families are encouraged to come along to our information / playgroup sessions each week. The program runs for five weeks total.

You will find out how to:

  • join the library in your area
  • find children's activities and programs
  • access childcare and kindergarten programs
  • keep your child’s immunisations up to date
  • join and run a playgroup
  • enroll with your local maternal and child health nurse
  • find fun things to do in one of the world’s most livable cities.
