Educate our volunteers

Promote your business or event to visitors through our network of city volunteers.

Volunteers at information booth going over map with tourists

We have a team of over 240 volunteers talking to visitors every day, sharing their tips on what to do and see in the city. There are a number of ways you can educate our volunteers and present your product or event information.

We run:

  • four seasonal event forums a year delivered at the start of each season
  • a monthly familiarisation program which includes a guided visit to your attraction, tourism product or business.

The familiarisation program and forums can help to:

  • increase awareness of the tourism product, business or service
  • market tourism businesses to a targeted audience
  • help Melbourne businesses connect with visitors
  • empower staff and volunteers to deal with visitor enquiries with more confidence and enthusiasm.

The Visitor Hubs and the Melbourne Visitor BoothOpens in new tab are open seven days a week. These services are the starting point for the ultimate Melbourne tourist experience.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future.
