                    Our friendly and qualified swim instructors will help your child develop their swimming skills and techniques, as well as teaching them valuable water safety skills they need to be safe around water.

                    Our program

                    We value our student’s safety above everything else, which is why our lessons align with the Royal Life Saving Society Australia (RLSSA) Swim and Survive program. This program is designed to teach our students swimming and water safety skills, and it aligns with the new National Swimming and Water Safety Framework. In 2019, we were the recipient of the Life Saving Victoria Swim and Survive Licensee of the Year award.

                    At Melbourne City Baths Swim and Survive is made up of four different programs;

                    • Little Wonders (30 minutes)
                      • This program is for our infants and toddlers aged from 6 months to 3.5 years. In these levels, the students will have an adult accompanying them in the class.
                    • Junior Levels (30 minutes)
                      • Our junior levels are for children aged between 3 and 5 years and follows the same criteria as our primary levels, but tailored to the cognitive development and motor skills of this age group.
                      • Students are in the class without parents/guardians. Some students may need their parents/guardians to be in the water to help with the initial transition to being in the class independently.
                    • Primary Levels (30 minutes)
                      • The primary levels is for our primary school ages students aged 5+ years. The program ranges from Level 1 to Level 11. The level your child is enrolled into within this program is based on their swimming abilities and water safety knowledge.
                    • Bronze Medallion
                      • For students that complete their formal swimming lessons they can progress into our bronze medallion program that is designed to continue their swimming and water safety skills, while introducing lifesaving skills and providing a pathway to become a lifeguard.
