We’re committed to investing in the arts and supporting our city's creative community, especially when times are tough. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we're providing $2 million in grants to artists and creatives to invest in new works, and digital presentation of works and performances.

Minerals and Memory
With this project I return to lifecycle.
Existence is twofold: physical and recollected:
Concrete Citizens Virtual Exhibition
The project involved the creation of a professional website, specifically the development of an online exhibiton experience of Alex Schoelcher's most recent series, Concrete Citizens.
Online Gallery and Handmade Photobook Orders
An online store to showcase a selection of handmade photobooks from long-term documentary photography projects. Put together from an archive of extensive photographic work across North Africa, Latin America, USA and Australasia each book is designed to complement it’s subject matter.
Isolation stories
A portrait series of people isolating due to travel, sickness or vulnerable health, and a little chat about their experiences in isolation during the pandemic. I've found the project to be a beautiful way to connect with people safely, and share their stories to others who might be feeling alone.
Suspended
The project responds to the COVID-19 pandemic and the changing sense of movement and stillness in the city through creation of suspended watercolour paper sculptures.
