Melbourne Fashion Week (M/FW) will return in October 2024, packed with a program that celebrates our city’s vibrant and diverse fashion community.

The City of Melbourne is proud to own, fund and annually deliver M/FW to position Melbourne as Australia’s fashion capital, whilst supporting the city’s broader retail, arts, design and hospitality sectors. M/FW is renowned for showcasing emerging, independent, and established designer brands, driving strong visitation, retail sales and a significant economic impact to a range of businesses across the city.

M/FW connects runway to retail, with most looks featured in showcases and exhibitions available for purchase from local Melbourne retailers. The week-long celebration of fashion will see runways and a diverse range of fashion experiences take over unique and unexpected spaces, featuring over 300 designers and retailers across 100 events.

                    The core M/FW program includes:

                    • Fashion runways - Established and emerging designers showcasing collections in some of the city’s most premium, unexpected and iconic spaces, celebrating Melbourne’s diverse design and fashion community. Designers are encouraged to showcase tran-seasonal, evergreen collections to support a more sustainable future and fashion industry.
                    • Pop-up runways - Established and emerging designers, fashion organisations and retail brands showcasing collections in free roving runway activations across the city.
                    • Fashion Capsules exhibitions - Showcasing Melbourne’s independent, innovative, diverse and inspiring designers, artists and taste makers, through a series of curated exhibitions, dispersed across high profile locations within the city.
                    • Independent partner events - Activating the city with a diverse range of films, workshops, runways, exhibitions and more, these events are run independently by creative practitioners.

M/FW will be held from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 October 2024. We invite creative thinkers from all facets of the fashion and design industries to express their interest in participating in the 2024 program.
