                    COVID-19 Arts grants showcase

                    We’re committed to investing in the arts and supporting our city's creative community, especially when times are tough. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we're providing $2 million in grants to artists and creatives to invest in new works, and digital presentation of works and performances.

                    Take a look through the works that have been made possible through our quick response arts grants.​

                    • Magma

                      A sketch show disguised as a sci-fi engineering presentation on the glorious potential of the new magma mining industry. From ideas generated on the 'Two in the Think Tank' podcast from critically acclaimed comedians Alasdair Tremblay-Birchall and Andy Matthews.
                    • Bailey's Botanical Band

                      Did you know that if you sing to your plants they grow faster? Join me to learn how you can look after your houseplants by simply singing them your favourite songs.
                    • The Art of Making Art

                      Nominated for Best Australian Spotlight @ Melbourne Webfest, The Art of Making Art heroes the work of 5 incredible designers - Crisanne Fox, Chloe Greaves, Zoë Rouse, Emily Collett and Rhiannon Irving - as well as photographer, Jodie Hutchinson and a host of tenacious Melbourne indie theatre-makers.
                    • Master/Slave

                      Master/Slave is a series of installations and sculptures made with lights and machines, exploring the interventions of hierarchies between human and machine creating conversations of empathy through modes of ideology and technology.
                    • Borderland - Liam Gerner with Luke Moller

                      The Bulletin Debate is an album by Liam Gerner of poems produced by Henry Lawson and Banjo Patterson about the myth of the bush. Grant money created two 10 minute music videos with award winning Australian photographers.
