Office Feuerman (OF) aims to develop innovative and transformative design projects that encapsulate the fundamental idea of building a sense of community through art.

By designing immersive experiences that respond to the unique personality of cities, towns and their neighbourhoods, we create interactive experiences to reenergize and stimulate public space.

Our projects provide visually and spatially delightful experiences, responding to a sense of community heritage and cultures, that serve as an interface for people to engage with their public spaces.

OF was founded in New York in 2007 and is now based in Sydney. The practice’s work has been featured and recognized in national and international publications and exhibitions.

                    Double Vision

As a calibrated and playful visual disruption, DOUBLE VISION aims to develop a deeper understanding of the interactive relationships between our senses and the built environment.

Double Vision provided an excellent opportunity through which Office Feuerman could further explore ideas around (in)attention within public spaces.

The work was an urban intervention at the Queen Victoria markets that sought to investigate the interactive relationships between our senses and the built environment – seeking to draw our attention away from the digital and into the real and now. The artwork was carefully calibrated to provide a playful visual experience, to emulate ‘double vision’ – an opportunity for passers-by to stop and investigate the many self-reflections that follow. The visual effects were very effective, with many stopping or re-routing to explore (in this aspect we felt the work was a success).

The market, as a hub, was a great site with plenty of foot traffic, however, despite the plan for the work to move, it proved too difficult in the end due to the nature of the market’s schedule  –night vs day reorganisation requirements, i.e. potential sites required to be free for forklift access, car access etc.
