The Herald Sun / CityLink – Run for the Kids has won the 2016 Melbourne Award for Contribution to Community by a Corporation.

The Herald Sun / CityLink – Run for the Kids has become a much-loved and important event for Melburnians since its inception in 2006. The successful fun run held over two distances – 16 km and 5 km – raises money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, as well as encouraging health and fitness in our community.

The courses take in many significant city landmarks, giving participants the unique opportunity to run through CityLink’s Domain Tunnel and over the Bolte Bridge.

Over $14.1 million has been raised in its 11-year history, thanks to the more than 330,000 runners who have taken part. It attracts families, friends, workmates and school groups, all united for a cause – to help sick children.

Run for the Kids’ contribution to the Royal Children’s Hospital supports continued access to life-changing projects, research and technological innovations, helping further cement the Hospital’s reputation as a world-class institution.

Held every year on the Sunday before Good Friday, Run for the Kids is consistently a feel-good occasion and a key date in Melbourne’s charity calendar.
