Despite COVID-19 restrictions limiting live attendance, the 2020 event was livestreamed and broadcast on Channel 31, attracting almost 25,000 viewers the largest audience yet.
The event opened with a special Wominjeka! Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by the Wurundjeri Woi wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, followed by music by DJ pgz (curated by First Nations musician Kee'ahn).
Award winners and nominees received a range of prizes – including cash, merchandise, marketing and software packages – as well as much needed recognition at a time where many had been robbed of their promotional, sales and tour opportunities.
