                    Eades Dog Park

Two happy dogs on leads in park
City of Melbourne is transforming the dog off-leash area in Eades Park into a safer space where four-legged friends can play, sniff and zoom to their hearts’ content.

Works are expected to start in June 2024 and will take nine weeks to complete.

                    The paw-some upgrade will deliver:

                    • A secure space for dogs with a permanent perimeter fence and gates.
                    • Landscape features such as rocks, logs and plants for dogs to sniff and explore.
                    • Seats, bins and a drinking fountain.
                    • A mix of surfaces such as sand, mulch and paving.
                    • Grassy areas and garden beds with a new irrigation system.

You can expect the following while works are underway:

                    • The Eades Park dog off-leash area will be closed - the next nearest dog off-leash area is at Stawell Street Park in West Melbourne. Find out more about dog off-leash areas in the City of Melbourne or download a map.
                    • The hours of work are 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work required.
                    • The footpath from King Street to Eades Place will be blocked off during the works to accommodate the worksite hub - access via Roden Street and the centre of Eades Park will still be available.
                    • There will be an increase in trucks and machinery on site.
                    • While excavation works may cause noise and dust, we'll put measures in place to reduce these impacts where possible.
