                    Frankenstein's Telephone

                    Abstract image generated by AI
‘Frankenstein's Telephone’ is a conceptual artwork created using artificial intelligence to examine how computer vision expresses gender classifications. Explore the original artworks, read about the algorithms used and make your own works from a text prompt or an image upload.

Frankenstein's telephone is a series of images and text generated by Artificial Intelligence algorithms that have been chained together. The chain starts with a caption and an AI produces an image from that caption.

The image is then classified and segmented into an abstract image where color denotes objects and people. A new image is generated in response to that segmentation, filling in the colored areas with its own understanding of the categories. Finally, a new caption is generated in response.
