The initiative started with just three junior doctors and an ICT integrator supplying local hospitals with 3D-printed face shields.
But, as the crisis escalated so too did their response, expanding to supply the whole state of Victoria with over 35,000 reusable face-shields.
The team’s scope has also grown beyond the hospital setting to support other health services as well as protecting the community by making their Australian-made, clinical-grade face-shields available to the public.
