                    In the Melbourne Town Hall, City Gallery presents a free, annual program of exhibitions that draw on the City of Melbourne’s extensive art and heritage collection.

                    Devised by specialist curators, each show explores aspects of the city’s cultural, historical and artistic life.

                    • Queer Street presents Timothy Horn

                      This exhibition resulted from a collaboration between Queer St and the City of Melbourne and was part of the Midsumma Festival.
                    • Recentre; sisters

                      Recentre; sisters presents the work of eight Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women artists: Paola Balla, Hannah Bronte, Tara-Rose Butterworth-Gonebale, Lorraine Connelly-Northey, Destiny Deacon, Lee Darroch, Hannah Gutchen and Kimba Thompson.

                      Rubble and steel abound in this reworking of the City of Melbourne's archive of practical photography.

                      During 2012, the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was celebrated – sixty years since she ascended the throne.

                      This City Gallery exhibition looked at rubbish collection and disposal - which have long been among the foremost responsibilities of local government.

                      Small Towns Big Picture was an innovative regional development project led by the Cultural Development Network of Victoria and the Centre for Sustainable Regional Communities at La Trobe University in Bendigo.

                    • Town of North Melbourne 1905

                      In 1905, the Town of North Melbourne voted to merge with the Melbourne City Council. One hundred years on, this exhibition commemorated the anniversary of that merger.
