ArtPlay’s program for children and families aims to be challenging, creative and meaningful. Children explore their creativity and self-expression and share unique artistic experiences with professional artists.

The centre runs more than 300 workshops, events and performances every year. Short workshops for young children sit alongside extended creative experiences for older children. Artists, workshop content and participants reflect Melbourne’s diversity.

ArtPlay’s activities are either free or offered at affordable prices. They include weekend programs, school holiday activities, weekday school and under fives programs as well as special programs run in conjunction with Melbourne events and festivals. Bookings are required for most events, however there are also free drop-in workshops available. Be sure to check out what’s on before dropping by.

ArtPlay caters for babies through to children aged up to 13 years of age.
