Buses can also drop off and pick up passengers using:
- ‘Loading Zone’ spaces
- ‘No Parking’ areas (when stopping for less than 2 minutes).
We provide spaces for longer stay bus and coach layover in designated areas outside the CBD.
Stop and park your bus or coach legally to pick up and drop off passengers, then drive to an area with longer term parking conditions if you need to layover within the municipality.
We’re making parking simpler and fairer in the CBD
Improvements to CBD parking are now being rolled out and will be completed early next year. These include improvements to how we use our busy kerbside space for buses and coaches:
- Most spaces for the pick-up and drop-off of passengers in the Hoddle Grid will be limited to 15 minutes.
- Some existing pick-up and drop-off spaces will be consolidated or reduced in size.
- We'll provide more layover spaces for longer term parking outside of the CBD.
These improvements will not be ‘set and forget’, as we will review the changes to make sure the new parking conditions are working well.
