ArtPlay’s New Ideas Lab is back!

This program develops new creative works for children over three stages with collaboration from artists, children and audiences alike. You'll get the opportunity to engage and shape the works before they are officially premiered.

The New Ideas Lab is a biennial EOI process that gives artists an opportunity to propose projects for our creative arts program with and for children and their families. We are proud to have children as key decision makers on the panel selecting these projects.

                    This year's projects include:

                    • Maa Maa and Nonna's Kitchen –  Sophia Constantine and Jennifer Tran

                    • Then What?!  – Tom Holloway

                    • The Censor – Vidya Rajan, Cassandra Fumi and Performing Lines

What do Dr. Seuss, William Golding and Mem Fox have in common? They've all written books that have been banned for kids. Books deemed too scary or too immoral to be consumed by anyone but an adult.
