If you or your family are new to Melbourne from overseas, you may need to update your vaccinations to attend school or care in Australia.

Immunisation helps protect children and adults against harmful infections by using the body’s natural defence mechanism – the immune response – to build resistance to specific infections. Immunisation also helps you stay healthy by preventing serious diseases in the first place.

                    Updating your vaccinations in Australia

                    To arrange vaccinations in Australia:

                    1. Submit your details below, to help our team review your vaccination history.
                    2. We will work out what vaccines you require to be up-to-date on the National Immunisation Program. This can take up to three weeks.
                    3. We will also add any of your current immunisations to the Australian Immunisation Register.
                    4. We will send you an individual immunisation catch-up plan that outlines what vaccines you require.
                    5. You can then attend one of our community immunisation sessions to complete your vaccinations once you have been sent an up to date catch up plan from one of our immunisation staff.

You can also contact your GP for advice about vaccination catch-ups and updating your child’s overseas history to the Australian Immunisation Register.

If you need to contact us or have any questions, please email immunisation@melbourne.vic.gov.au or call 0417 219 089.
