Lord Mayor Robert Doyle today announced details of Moomba’s 2016 program and crowned Melbourne Cup winning jockey Michelle Payne and her strapper brother Stevie Payne Moomba Monarchs.

“Michelle and Stevie have captured the imagination and hearts of Melburnians; inspiring us to aim high and work hard to achieve our goals,” the Lord Mayor said.

“They are the perfect representation of what a Moomba monarch should be and we are delighted to have them on board as our King and Queen for 2016.”
