The irrigation system will provide water to the nearby trees, improving their growth and health.
Works to install the system started in October 2023 and will be completed by June 2024. Work hours are 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
What do the works involve?
- digging into the ground and removing soil
- installing the new underground irrigation system
- cleaning up and restoring the surface to original condition.
Where will the works take place?
- the first round of works will be near the Childers Street and Ormond Street intersection
- a second round of works will take place in Childers Street towards Kensington Road.
What are the impacts?
- pedestrian and vehicle access along Childers Street will be maintained at all times
- some noise is to be expected while digging and excavation works are underway
- you will notice an increase of workers in the area
- some car park bays will be occupied during work hours.
