Pen Plan Paris
Pen Plan Paris was created out of a successful ArtPlay grant application. Artists from the Diatribe design group worked with children to build a full-scale model of a Parisian apartment – using cardboard.
The project sounded slightly eccentric on
paper, but in real-life cardboard it was a sight to behold. The artists embedded speakers in the walls and played back recordings of children made in the space, while children painted on the walls of the apartment.
The Microscope Drawing Project
This was another successful ArtPlay grant application, bringing together science and art. The Microscope Drawing Project involved children looking at flora and fauna through microscopes and then using their observations to create art.
The children had a great time, donning their obligatory white lab coats to examine their specimens. The spirit of ArtPlay shines through in this project that brought
together an unlikely combination of art and science to produce wonderful results.
Rawcus
Theatre company Rawcus received an ArtPlay grant for its project involving 12 children with and without disabilities. The
children worked together with Rawcus artists to create a multi-disciplinary work.
The project allowed the artists to develop a new work, and allowed the children to explore performance, storytelling and stage production.
