Every day, Melbourne City Mission works with some of Melbourne’s most vulnerable individuals, families and communities. Every week, they help thousands of people escape and avoid disadvantage, economic exclusion and social isolation.
The Mission has grown with the city, adapting services to respond to the changing needs of Melbourne. Melbourne City Mission works alongside people in need, providing the support required in order for them to build a better future for themselves.
The organisation also takes on broader causes of exclusion and disadvantage by building community connection, awareness and support through public events, education programs, engagement activities and partnerships.
Melbourne City Mission celebrated 160 years of establishment in 2014, and is as valuable and necessary to the City of Melbourne today as it was in the 1850s. The organisation has built equity, opportunity and community connection for the City of Melbourne, and remains committed to providing every person who spends time in the city with the opportunity to participate, contribute and belong.
