Our Vision

Melbourne Library Service: Melbourne's gateway to your past, present and future.

The City of Melbourne established the Melbourne Library Service to better serve the communities that live, work and study in Australia's fastest growing capital city.

To assist the library service, a ten year strategic plan has been adopted by Council. The Melbourne Library Service Strategic Plan 2008 - 2018 is the roadmap for the future of library services in the city. The library provides many of its services and programs through four full service libraries, an access point and our virtual library service.
