A delicious free lunch will be cooked onsite by Open Table using diverted surplus food that would otherwise have gone to waste.

The event will include live local music and ‘bite size talks’ from community groups about how you can get more involved in your community.

Board games will also be available to play.

A vegetarian lunch will be served at 1pm. Bookings not required, just join us!

Check out our workshops in the Local Lunch Club series:

  • Cook to Connect: Join Jane, dietician from CoHealth in a fortnightly session, Cook to Connect, at Kathleen Syme Library. Learn new tips and tricks for cooking healthy and delicious meals, even without all the bells and whistles of a full kitchen. This is a social, no cost session where all experience levels are welcome. Come and cook your lunch, and then eat it too! Bookings essentialOpens in new tab.

  • Aboriginal People Flag

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future.
