Mojo Festival of Arts is an extravaganza of lived-experience-led creativity and community honouring World Schizophrenia Day.
Presented by Schizy Inc, an organisation on a mission to make the arts more accessible, Mojo showcases some of the best new stand-up comedy, theatre, music, dance, visual art and literature from artists with diverse and complex mental health. Unique, courageous and optimistic, Mojo Festival of Arts boldly goes where no mental health policy can, and poses for a picture on the way out!
Schizy Inc is a disability lived experience-led Arts organisation based in Melbourne/Naarm and we're all people with lived experience of complex mental health.
Our whole raison d'etre is to give people hope, purpose and meaning through the expression of themselves in the Arts.
And the Mojo Arts Festival the performance we had at the Trades Hall building was absolutely fantastic because people were there showcasing their talents and all the work they put into their comedy sketch or their psalm or their singing or their dance you know the whole thing was about them showcasing what is possible when you're given the tools and the encouragement to be to be creative.
They create optimism and enthusiasm for the Arts as well so it goes beyond recovery and becomes healing.
