We can change parking signs and conditions to reserve an area on the road for permit holders. The area set aside is called the construction permit zone.
A construction parking permit may not be suitable if your project doesn’t need a construction management plan.
If your works will take less than six months, you can still apply for a permit.
But you will need to pay the minimum fee based on holding a permit for six months.
If your works will take less than four weeks, you should consider a reserved parking permit.

If you’re renovating a home in a resident parking permit area, you should consider a tradesperson parking permit.
You must submit your application at least 35 business days before you need parking changes installed.
Your application could be delayed or rejected if you don’t pay the fees or supply all the information we need.

If your construction permit zone will extend beyond your site frontage, you will need to consult the adjoining owners.
You must give notice in writing to the adjoining owners, and submit a copy of this notice when you apply for a construction zone permit.
If your works requires partial installation of a construction permit zone, you must submit a marked-up scaled drawing.
The drawing should show where you want parking to be installed at this stage.
You should match the drawing and revision number in the approved CTIA.
Paid parking bays are indicated by ‘meter’ or ‘ticket’ signs. If your application involves paid parking bays, you will need to pay for loss of revenue.
The amount you have to pay for loss of revenue will be shown in your CMP approval.
You must pay the following fees when you apply for a construction parking permit:
Fees are subject to change each financial year.
The application fee for temporary parking of construction, tradesman or material delivery vehicles adjacent to your site is $168.80.
The permit fee is based on the total area occupied. The fee is $2.30 per m2 per day. .
The set-up and reinstatement fee is $3080.

Once your permit is approved and fees are paid, we’ll install the construction permit zone.
We will change parking signs to ‘Permit Zone Construction Vehicles'.
The times listed on your signs may be different in some circumstances, and some areas may have signs changed to ‘No Stopping’. This is to clear space either for safety or to accommodate vehicle swept paths.
We will only install parking changes that are outlined in your approved CTIA.

The review may delay the installation of your construction permit zone.
If you choose not to install all the changes, some fees will no longer apply. Your fees and loss of revenue will be adjusted based on what you install.
Permit extensions are available for a minimum of three months.
They don’t happen automatically. You must follow the procedure to extend your construction parking permit.
The proposed configuration of your construction permit zone must be in an approved Construction Management Plan (CMP).

If you want a configuration that’s not shown, you’ll need to submit a CMP revision for approval. This may cause a delay as your CTIA will need to be reviewed again.

When your CMP revision is approved, you can apply for a configuration change of your construction permit zone.
You must notify us of your departure date at least six weeks before you plan to finish works.
You must remove all modifications you made to the road or footpath and reinstate the area. This includes bollards, fences gates, concrete pads and temporary access ramps. Failure to remove these obstructions will result in permit fees continuing to be charged.
