Led by theatre artist Jessica Wilson, this artist learning session explores a creative approach to conceiving your work for international markets as a way to make a living from your art practice.
In the first part of the session Jessica will explain how she developed an international touring practice through building relationships with presenters and other international artists, how she’s adapted her works and approach to suit different places, and how this process has yielded richer outcomes. She will discuss international touring opportunities that she has encountered, current trends, and what producers get excited about.
The second part of the session will involve a hands-on exploration of what is distinctive about your work, how you might conceive or adapt your project and simple strategies for building an international profile.
