We understand that this is disappointing for the organisations who planned to join the mission. However, our first consideration is the safety and wellbeing of delegates and staff.
We highly value our relationships and strategic partnerships with communities in China and Japan, and look forward to future successful business missions.
We will continue to closely monitor reports of the novel coronavirus – including through regular contact with the Department of Health and Human Services. For more information about novel coronavirus, including symptoms and steps to prevent the spread of the virus, visit the Department of Health and Human Services website.
About the business mission
Led by the Lord Mayor, our biennial international business missions help build prosperity in Melbourne and ensure we remain a leading global city. Our past business missions have helped Melbourne businesses achieve international commercial success.
The 2020 Business Mission invited Melbourne companies, entrepreneurs, business owners and start-ups to take part in three separate sector tours, focusing on different business areas: Liveability (Chengdu and Tianjin); Start-ups, Health and Innovation (Guangzhou, Nanjing and Tianjin in China, and Osaka in Japan); and Retail and Creative Economy (Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shanghai and Tianjin).
