Group fitness classes

Group fitness classes are a motivating way to keep fit and healthy.

The Melbourne City Baths group fitness timetable offers an extensive range of classes including our unique circuit and kettle bell classes. From beginners to advanced, there is something for everyone.

Class Description
Active Fusion  Active fusion is a combination of all the essential fitness elements for the active 50+ including, cognitive function, strength, dance, and flexibility 

Bodypump

The original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. 

Boxing

Boxing is a great high intensity class combining cardio and endurance work with muscle strength and power to create one great workout. This mixed boxing class provides participants with the skills required for effective punching and kicking while ensuring they work hard to burn as much fat as possible.

 

No previous boxing skills or knowledge are required, just a great attitude for this 45 minute class!  

Circuit class

This unique circuit style class combining machine and free weight working your way through 15 programmed exercises, completing 45 seconds of work with 15 seconds recovery. Suitable for beginners through to the advanced. 

Cycling

Whether your last bike ride was on training wheels or you’re ready for the Tour de France, burn fat fast with this fun indoor cycling program. Classes are 45 minute. 

Gymstick Core 

Gymstick Core is a complete body workout like no other group fitness class! Each exercise will improve your core strength, balance, posture, coordination, muscle strength and endurance. The class is designed in an interval format, encouraging you to put in maximum effort in a short period of time. Guaranteed to make you feel muscles you forgot you had!

KBT (Kettle Bell Training)

This unique outdoor class will improve your strength, condition your body, increase your heart rate, make you sweat and burn calories. KBT classes complement all exercise goals. We offer a variety of kettlebell weights which makes it easy for beginners to learn, and great for seasoned gym users wanting to see results! 

Pilates A class that helps to improve body awareness and posture while focusing on your breathing to decreasing stress levels. The Pilates method targets abdominal, back and shoulder muscles whilst strengthening the pelvic floor and core to improve coordination and balance.

Prime

Prime classes offer a flexible and social program for over 60s. Classes are held in the gym and outdoors, providing you with interesting and varied workouts. You will work with weight machines, free weights and body weight exercises. Instructors will work closely with you providing a supportive environment for your to maintain and improve mobility, flexibility and strength.

Reformer Pilates

Reformer pilates is a class that combines the principles of mat based pilates and specially designed reformer beds that offer resistance to strengthen you from the inside out. Reformer pilates focuses on control, balance and strengthening exercises. All of our classes are run by qualified and experienced instructors to ensure you are prescribed safe and appropriate exercises whilst being challenged.

RPM

Indoor cycling workout with no impact, no coordination, just sheer hard work where you can almost feel the calories falling off!

Great music inspires you through a range of riding terrains enacted through the use of resistance and variable speeds. The best thing about the program is you ride within your own limits. 

Run Fit

Run Fit will improve and assist you in achieving your short and long distance running goals. Our instructors will take you for long runs and also allocate sessions to building speed and power.

 

Run Fit is great for people who have never run before, getting back into running and those who love to run.

Torso Tone

Torso Tone is designed to condition your whole body with a focus on improving core and postural muscles utilising swiss balls, free weights and body weight exercises.

 

Achieve a balanced workout by combining upper and lower body exercises. Torso Tone classes will help you trim your core and tone your body in a fun and effective way.

TRX Fit

TRX Fit is our latest 45 minute outdoor class. Utilising a frame apparatus and portable slings our personal trainers will have your muscles aching!

 

These classes rely on gravity and your body weight to tone your muscles and increase your heart rate to burn calories. Beginners welcome and all equipment provided.  

Water Workout 

Water Workout is a moderate to high intensity 45 minute program in our specialised pool. A variety of aquatic equipment is used in these workouts for extra resistance and to assist with floatation. 

WHIP (Whole-Body High Intensity Programming)

Utilising various equipment this high octane 30 minute whole body workout will drive and push you harder than you can imagine. You will burn calories, fast track your fitness goals and it's sure to WHIP you into shape.  

Yoga 

Yoga combines posture, breathing and relaxation techniques from a number of yoga disciplines to improve your circulation and flexibility. No prior yoga experience is required. 

Zumba

These Latin dance classes fuse hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away.

 

Join the party and experience an absolute blast of calorie-burning, body energising, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!

Class bookings

Group fitness class tickets are available one hour prior to the scheduled class time. Please collect your ticket from reception at least five minutes before the class commences and present your ticket to the group fitness instructor upon entry to the class.
