Well designed roads and in particular, the CBD grid, have been an important feature of the City of Melbourne from the beginning. Today, the City of Melbourne has approximately 1500 roads and 900 laneways under its care and management.
Roads/footpaths records and reports
The City of Melbourne has extensive records about the operation of the roads and footpaths network.
The records comprise inventories, plans, drawings, databases, files, key maps and installation histories. Various technical reports, studies and schemes are also retained on file as are correspondence and Council approvals and decisions.
