Sustainability Report 2005-06

The City of Melbourne has released its 'Sustainability Report 2005-06', the organisation's first stand-alone annual report on its sustainable practices.

This report shows how the City of Melbourne has performed and how its policies and strategies impact on the city as a whole using a range of social, environmental and economic indicators.

The City of Melbourne's six strategic objectives

The structure of our sustainability report reflects the City of Melbourne's premier planning document, our 'Council Plan 2005 – 2009', with issues reported under six strategic objectives, including:

  • a connected and accessible city;
  • an innovativve and vital business city;
  • an inclusive and engaging city;
  • an environmentally responsible city;
  • a well-managed and leading corporation; and
  • a financially responsible corporation.

The 'City of Melbourne Sustainability Report 2005-06' reports against a set of Global Reporting Indicators that focus on the organisation's performance.
